ok, well it seems that people are keeping their silence after the debacle of the oscars - i was expecting kudos, perhaps a congrats or two but really, do i deserve such silence?
sigh, and all i do is provide the masses with wonderful pics and witty stories - but i'll let it go, here are some more pics and hopefully these will elicit a response.
here we're making the switch at the bottom of the nariz - the people on top are scurrying down the ladder and we're patiently waiting our turn to take to the roof.

well I as you know employ other means of communicating with you, but I will post something here just to make you feel better :)
these pics are great, that musta been quite the experience on the train - how fast did it haul itself up the hills? did you feel like you were kinda on a float in a parade, or maybe on a rollercoaster? nervous at all? were there any ecuadorans in your midst?
loja definitely has some quirkiness going on. looks a little like the malecon 2000 in its disneyworld-like character. did you go on the slides? :)
to everyone, about the oscars, I was keeping track of everyone as we went along, busily putting x's and checkmarks beside all your choices as the night went on and keeping a master tally. for the record, it looked like either karen or ray were going to walk away with it - but then dave came storming through down the middle in the last few awards. as for me, well I was pretty mediocre all the way through just trying to stay ahead of noreen :) no need to pity me, and no, we're not all winners.
on behalf of all of us dear, a hearty congratulations to you on your movie knowledge (or intuition, or guesswork, or just dumb luck), and an honourable mention to karen and ray for making it close!
